I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Classroom Responsibilities:
There is a $100 non-refundable fee at the time of registration, included in the total cost of the program.
I must attend all ten sessions. If for any reason after I sign up for a scheduled session and have not appeared for said class, or I have rescheduled the session more than twice, I forfeit any refund due me as a student of FDA.
If I miss a class session, I must attend a make-up class. There is a $20 charge for a makeup class. There is also a $15.00 fee for any examination I take again. There is also a $30.00 makeup fee for a final exam if taken a third time (3rd test). If the student cancels their session less than 24 hours before the classroom begins, an additional $50 will not be refunded.
Students should bring a notebook to class along with a ballpoint pen (cannot use pencils).
If I miss more than 12 hours or more of classroom instructions, I am not allowed to continue classes as scheduled. I would have to repeat the course again with current fee.
I must pass both the classroom phase and the driving phase of the program to successfully complete driver’s education. This allows for a 15-minute break.
Phone calls cannot be made during class time except in emergency situations.
I will refrain from using profane, loud, and abusive language. I cannot come under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
No one is allowed to accompany me in class (Except students that require interpreters, parents for students who have special needs—please let the office know so we can make arrangements).
If I come to the driving school intoxicated (drunk/drugged) the instructor will refuse to take the student out on the road. The $50 rescheduling fee will be effective under the following circumstance.
For students who are under 18 yrs of age, their parent/guardian is required to attend the one-hour orientation on the first day of class. Parents of students who are 18 yrs and over are also welcome to attend the orientation.
I understand that school management assumes no responsibility for any incident occurring outside of this building.
I understand that all students are monitored inside the building and also while driving in the car.
All electronic devices and cell phones must be turned off during class time.
This building is inspected nightly. Each class will be held responsible for damages found on that night.
There will be a $35.00 dollar service charge on all returned checks.
For weather related announcements and inclement weather conditions or cancellations please follow county public school updates, especially the county where you are attending the classes. All FDS(s) and their locations will declare that they will be closed. You must, however, call the school to determine if they are closed for your session.
Emergencies are defined as being taken to the hospital in serious conditions, and the sudden death of a family member (i.e. Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Children, Grandparents on either side of the family).
If you miss the first class of the session (day) you must then re-sign up for another scheduled session, because you have missed the beginning of your session.
Behind The Wheel Responsibilities:
Driving lessons will be given by appointment only and will depend upon next available time.
I must let the office know the days and times I am available for In-Car Driving. I understand I may not be scheduled to drive until I have completed the classroom phase of the course. I also understand that In-Car Driving schedule will not be given over the phone. I must come to the school, agree and sign the schedule.
Cancellations must be verified 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a $50 charge per cancellation.
All future lessons will be cancelled until payment is received.
There are dash cameras in our cars and classrooms for the safety of our students and instructors.
It is informed here and during the orientation that if the student does not have a learner’s permit at the time of the 30-hour classes then the student must obtain and provide the learner’s permit to the FDA to get the 6 hours on the road training within 5 weeks. If not, then the student should provide a written request for an extension.
If the student does have a permit and they do not touch base or inform the school of any reason about not obtaining the in-car schedule in person, then their schedule will be based off the latest availability when they come back.
I am not allowed to smoke in the building. I cannot eat or drink in the car(s).
Students are required to have a valid learner’s permit in order to complete the six hours behind-the-wheel with an instructor. Failure to bring your learner permit on day of your driving will result in a $50 reschedule fee.
FDA is required to submit student’s Driver’s Education completion information electronically to the Motor Vehicle’s Administration (MVA). Once a student has completed the course, the information will be electronically submitted. There is no certificate provided since it is not necessary. Records may take up to 3 business days to process. However, if you need a copy of your records of completion for your own satisfaction you can request one at the FDA office.
Driver’s education must be complete within 18 weeks. If a student does not complete the course within 18 weeks, FDA is entitled to any money owed for the entire course. If the student chooses to retake driver’s education the full price at the time of the new class will be in force, or the student can pay $175 reinstatement fee and continue where they left off.
The behind-the-wheel training will be finished within 18 weeks or before, depending on the availability of open slots, but will not take more than 18 weeks. Usually, it takes up to 6–7 weeks to get the behind wheel training dates.
Students who do not achieve a passing score on 3rd in-car driving lessons will be required to reschedule last 2 hours.
The fee for a 2-hour re-evaluation is $95. Refunds are prorated. The classroom portion costs $200, and BTW costs $150.
